Male red and fallow deer naturally and painlessly shed their antlers every year between March and April.
New growth starts immediately and by July the antlers have become fully grown, and are fully hardened by September. A full set of mature red deer stag antlers can weigh as much as 12 kilos (30lbs)!
The antlers are solid bone and are rich in calcium, magnesium and other beneficial minerals. Contrary to popular belief, they do not contain marrow.
They are a natural, extremely long lasting chew, with nothing added taken away. The grinding action of your dogs teeth will gradually wear the antler down. Dogs of all ages can benefit from chewing antlers, from teething pups to philosophical seniors! They come in different sizes to suit all breeds:
